Monday: Plum, 4, is out with SGG and SGS at Little Verse. Bean, 9, and Pumpkin, 7, put on Pirates of the Carribean: Dead man's Chest. It seems to me that they like epic trilogy good vs evil type films.
We mostly eat all morning and then ate more when Plum gets home before we go to lego club.
We set up Lego Club last year as Bean was wanting to have more friends. We wanted to make connections with others who had similar interests. It has become a great place for children of all ages to come together and share their knowledge and love of lego. Sometimes it's busy and noisy and vibrant, sometimes it's just a few families and everyone is engaged in the same game or build together, and sometimes, like today, it was just us. And we had a great time together playing games that the children had made up, building duplo with Pippin, 2, doing Build Battle together.
Back home we watched Ice Age and ate chicken. Pumpkin bathed whilst i got food together, Bean bathed four hours later. Plum, having slept 5 nights in her top bunk, slept with mummy again as the previous night she had had lots of nightmares.

People are more important
Monday. Plum, 4, went to Little Verse with SGG and SGS. Whilst she was out i played chess with both Bean, 9, and Pumpkin, 7. Pumpkin made his own Skylanders using lego mini figures. Pippin, 2, vacuumed with me and went back to bed for a nap about 11.30am.
Bean and me played on the wii in the afternoon. He chose Skylanders. We played together for about an hour whilst the others played happily together in my bedroom. He also cut out biscuits and then decorated them using tubes of writing icing. He mostly made faces onto the star shped biscuits. He spent most of the day watching Pokemon Advanced on his new tablet.
Pumpkin has been making his own Skylanders on his tablet (for Imaginators) as well as lego mini figures. He has also played through Lego: The Lord of The Rings on his tablet over the last few days too. This afternoon we played Mario Kart on the wii together and in the evening he played board games with Plum and daddy.
Plum got the cars and car mat out this morning and continued to play with them when she was at home. She put cars on all the road to create a huge trafic jam. She played cbeebies games on her tablet and instigated the hour long game of mummies with Pumpkin and Pippin in the afternoon. She also initiated the idea of making biscuits and cut out and decorated her own star biscuits. She had wanted heart ones but we have lost the heart shaped cutter. We sand twinkle twinkle whilst we were cutting them out and she taught me Dingle Dangle Scarecrow.
Pippin, 2, has enjoyed watching Bing and Tospy and Tim today. She has been busy playing cars with Plum and cuddled up on the sofa to read books with Pumpkin. She has cut out biscuits and played mummies with Plum as well as hoovering with me and drawing tiny squiggles very carefully.

Tangled (again)
Monday.
Bean, 9, is keen to watch prison break films however we don't own any so we settled for heist movie instead and watched Oceons 11. He is also constantly asking about coding but we are struggling with how to carve time for him to do this so that we can help him and the others are not distracting. Today he also reminded me that we haven't been swimming for a while, he would like to be keeper for a day at Drusillas, when are we going to Harry Potter World, can we go to LegoLand next year? He's definitely a boy with a plan (or two!) We also downloaded Carcasonne today and played it several times.
Pumpkin, 7, had a playdate today. Our friends A and J came to our house to play. Pumpkin and A played Terreria together, build battle on minecraft (their own version multiplayer LAN) and discussed and compared Pokemon. They also played Skylanders on the wii and Bean introduced A to his home made Skylanders role playing game.
Plum, 4, still isn't well. I think she has had this cough for over six weeks now. She is finding it draining and irritating and she is tired. However, she still musters the energy for the things that she loves and so this morning she went out with SGG and SGS to Little Verse. Predictably she crashed on the sofa when she got home, snuggled under a duvet and watched on her tablet for a couple of ours with pizza and apple juice.
When Plum had rested and refuelled she played with her friend J. They played at being dogs together and then playdough and cafes. Plum fell asleep on the sofa after our friends went home.
Pippin, 2, has spent time drawing today and cutting up grapes into small pieces, watching Bing and Topsy and Tim. She managed to stay awake until about 4pm when our friends had left and then she fell asleep on the sofa.
Bean put Tangled on again and Pumpkin asked for his hairbrush and spent the whole film brushing out his knots. Bean and Plum both had a bath tonight and we were all in bed by 10pm dispite the girls late afternoon nap.

Let the games begin
Monday
Plum went off to Little Verse as is the custom for a Monday morning, taken by SGG, whilst the remainder of us played Terraria together and Pippin slept for two hours nursing a cold. Terraria confuses me after the simplicity of minecraft but Bean has been on hand to give me full guidance and support.
We then went to a friend's house to play in the afternoon specifically for the boys to play lego dimensions. Anna enjoyed the swing, trampoline, play dough, and electronic keyboard.
Tuesday
We all spent the morning preparing for this afternoon's group meeting, collecting up outdoor toys and choosing pictures to take and colour, as well as snacks and drinks. Pumpkin began a memory game on the mat where he hopped from one picture to another and the following person had to remember the sequence and hop the same. We all enjoyed colouring and crafting. Bean, Pumpkin and their friend took the paper boats they made and experimented to see who's would last the longest on water before sinking.
Wednesday
A rather wet, thunder stormy, muddy walk at the top of Box Hill with friends. Pumpkin continuing his need to collect huge numbers of sticks. Pippin was so covered after walking and falling around in mud baths that her clothes were soaked through. We seemed to spend two hours barely getting anywhere but spent a lot of time in and out of dens and stick fighting.
And then we headed home to spend time with more friends, watching Hoodwinked and eating ice cream together. All four are currently out in the garden playing a game together. One of the things that has changed recently is the depth and breadth of the games the smalls play. A game becomes established and they all have their space and role and equipment that is theirs and the game becomes deeper and more involved each time it is played. This is true of the garden and the games they play there but also of places that we go to regularly, certain games become connected to certain places and they are picked up each time we visit, each small already established in their role and the game commences.

The precious pearl
The boys were up before 6 again today, fortunately daddy takes care of them as he is up getting ready for work. Plum also woke early, before 6 and fed for an hour before declaring that she was not going to go back to sleep, which is very unlike her.
We had a lovely time playing Lego, building boats and using the weaponry to fish with. We had a good chat about all the different ways people fish all over the world and what to do with the fish once they were caught and sustainable fishing.
For the first time today Bean expressed his desire not to go somewhere that we had planned to go to and we had to have our first ever conversation about us needing to go to places for others, not just for him. I'm sure it will be the first of many, I'm not really sure he understood the concept.
Little Verse was none the less popular once we arrived and the boys made two great hats after listening to the story of the precious pearl. Pumpkin then helped to give out the biscuits.
Gymnastics is ever popular too. Bean absolutely loves it. He's not a natural at it and things take some work but he tries and tries and is so happy to be doing it. Today he walked backwards on a beam and jumped two footed onto and off the spring board, both new skills for him.
Pumpkin insisted that we should have a play in the park, understandably. We had a couple of goes on the swings (as always) and watched the Zumba class. Then we noticed that Plum had dropped her toy. We had to retred our footsteps to find it in the lift. Pumpkin was very pleased that he was the one that found it.
We also managed to squeeze in a library visit too. It worked out well actually and we picked up some books on frogs and a crafty book for making gifts (yes, i'm thinking about Christmas already) and the boys chose some story books. The only down side was paying for a second car park in one day. This is the last month I am paid any maternity money and we are going to have to think even more closely about our pennies. It looks like we will have to learn to walk around town more and avoid paying for car parks.
We're at home now, watching Iplayer, planning on having a look at those frogs books and the Lego is still out so I'm sure that'll get another look in.

Three in One
Saturday, Sunday and Monday
- A trip to the Capitol Theatre to watch Charlie and Lola (a birthday present for Bean) Bean sat on daddy's lap and laughed and laughed. Pumpkin sat in between daddy and mummy and put his head on his knees when the ogre came and covered his ears, he out right refused to have a cuddle or sit on anyone's lap.
- Daddy was busy in the afternoon clearing the old fence panels from our garden so we took a trip to the local park. They were probably a little too tired for this, as was I but Bean enjoyed sunbathing and Pumpkin took to the swings as always. Plum slept.
- A trip to church on Sunday morning where some new friends joined us. I went up to Sunday school with the boys taking Plum with me. For some reason Pumpkin was being very clingy this morning so I thought it best, also SGG was taking the group and had an obviously sore throat plus the addition of our friends,the arrangement worked out well all round. Followed by the BBQ and then thanksgiving service for Gerald. The boys largely enjoyed the freedom to play with their church friends.
- A nap for me when we got home and then back to church for the evening service with Plum.
- Bean requested the photo above so he could rebuild the next day as it had to be put away over night.
- And lastly the request of hot chocolate on returning from our Monday outings to Little Verse and Gymnastics. The first sunny and warm day we've had in two months , Bean took his t-shirt off at the park. We also had time to play in the park and met with new mum H and baby F.
- Secretly wishing Plum would sleep just a few hours more at night but also knowing that it won't last forever.

Another manic Monday
We got off to a later start than usual this morning as Bean didn't wake until 7.45 and Plum had had a bad night so we slept a little longer than normal too. Pumpkin had been awake about an hour and after saying goodbye to daddy had obviously spent the time reading through several books downstairs.
We went to our usual Monday haunts. Little Verse in the morning followed by Bean's gymnastics class. Little Verse is an excellent place for all three of our children, starting with some rhymes followed by story and craft. Gymnastics is a relatively new part of our routine but is the only structured class that Bean does. We put it off for nearly a year and tried him with various other pursuits first but he absolutely loves it. You can tell that he isn't used to the structure and formalities though but as it's a home ed class he's not the only one! This was followed by a play in the park. Pumpkin loves the swings and enjoyed watching his shadow swinging with him today. Plum woke up and fed whilst we were there.
Pumpkin and Plum both fell asleep on the 5 minute car journey home. I was expecting Bean to have some TV time whilst he ate his lunch (even though it is 3.30pm by now) but we sat together in a very civilised manner at the table whilst he ate and I snacked. He then did some more pictures which he added to the series of pictures he did yesterday. We also did some house work together and started to clear the conservatory. My aim this week is to make this a usable room for the boys as they have become more interested in doing crafty things, almost on a daily basis, I'd like to make a spot they can use without us having to clear it away for meal times.
Pumpkin woke after an hour and a half and asked for the TV on so Bean joined him. They watched various cbeebies programmes including one in gaelic which they often do and doesn't seem to bother them although they are aware they don't know what is being said. They give their own running commentary.
Bean declared once again today that he wants to have long hair, he asked me, 'how do you cut your hair long?' This will be great to look back on in future years especially as his hair grows outwards rather than falling down. Gravity defiing!
