We had an At Home Day today.
Bean, 10, talked about working on his skatepark more but didn't get around to it. We played Harry Potter trivial pursuit and he had a bath. He watched The Simpsons and The amazing World of Gumball and we played Minecraft together.
Pumpkin, 8, played a new gun game with bean and plum, 5. They shot at each other using toy guns and you have to lie down for five seconds when you have been shot.
Plum came and worked in the garden with me. We washed out the old rabbit hutch and then pruned the grapevine and cleared some dead bind weed. We made a den in my room in the afternoon and she and pippin, 3, played in it for hours. We also finished watching Turbo.
Pippin had a bath and played with her repunzel barbie, anna doll and peppa pig toys together.

Rememberall
Today was an At Home Day, daddy took the car to work and we had packing to begin for our first camping trip of the year. Plum, 5, and Pippin, 2, helped unpack and clean and repack the camping boxes. We did four boxes in total throughout the day.
Pippin began the day by watching Bolt whilst eating breakfast and drawing. When Plum woke up, pippin and plum played with the cogs set and watched the different patterns as they spun the cogs.
Bean, 10, and pumpkin, 8, watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire whilst also playing games on Pumpkin's tablet which he was sharing with Bean as i had dropped his and smashed the screen last night.
Bean followed this by playing minecraft on the pc whilst Pumpkin sat with him and played Clash of Clans.
Plum set about trying to find mislaid polly pocket peices around the house in the miscellaneous boxes, this resulted in her tipping all the miscellaneous boxes onto the living room floor and everyone collecting their spoils.
Pippin requested painting in the afternoon and produced about ten papers of black stripes.
We tried to Skype our friends that we had spoken to yesterday and arranged to continue today but they had gone out. There was a lot of Sponge Bob in the evening and Pippin had a bubbly bath.
Bean has been busy building his Star Wars tie fighter model and x wing fighter in the last week. Everyone has bathed, bean enjoys wearing his goggles in the bath and pippin loves the bubbles, plum likes to bath and play with pippin, whilst pumpkin likes the idea of having a bath alone until bean turns up and jumps in and then they have lots of fun together. We have also spent hours watching America's got Talent and been enjoying the ventriloquism and magicians especially the children performers in the last week. It's difficult to remember all the things that happen in a day for four small people, sometimes it feels very unproductive but it is extremely difficult to actually do nothing, as writing this blog serves to prove, and remembering it all is a real challenge.

Turn around
I was slightly nervous about today's adventures, after yesterday's unsuccessful trip out. However, it was, in fact, super amazing.
We began the day with Plum, 5, and Pippin, 2, playing dogs and schools and running around the house and garden. They had the dollies out too and were dressing them and pushing them around in the house. At one point Pippin was attempting to take the scooter up the stairs. They hung the laundry up with me and fed the animals. They had a very busy morning.
Bean, 10, and Pumpkin, 8, watched scoobydoo (again) and Bakugan and played minecraft together. Bean got out the hotglue gun to stick a plastic snake to his tablet cover. He tried it three or four times but it wouldn't work. The hotglue would not stick to the cover. He realised that he could make things with the hotglue using the cover and then peel it off. He made an emoji for Pumpkin, a poo emoji for daddy, and a tellytubby for Plum and Pippin, he made mummy a heart. He used the marker pens to colour them in and Pumpkin came and had a go too.
After lunch we went out to meet FA#1 and cousinB at Sheffield Park. Bean got everyone's drinks ready. This is the third time we have been to Sheffield Park. The first time we went into the grounds and Pumpkin was nervous about the ponds. The second time we ate lunch in the picnic area in the car park and climbed the trees and then came home. Today we made it to the playtrail in the woods. We spent over an hour watching all the children making a huge den, complete with outdoor fire with fire guard, indoor seats, sofa, and bed.
After this we found a pub and went and ate out. I had mentioned that we would have battered sausage as we had originally planned to meet at a beach. FA#1 broke the news to Pumpkin and they agreed that next time we would go to a chip shop. The pub we found had a play area and did a children's menu including ice cream. It was all good. Bean got Harry Potter trivial pursuit cards as his birthday present from FA#1 so we played that in the pub garden whilst we waited/ate food.

Home on the Ranch
Still at home. Day 7. One full week for the girls. But Pippin, 2, is still sporting fresh spots. Plum, 5, is truely on the mend and now itching to go out.
We started the morning with The Winnie The Pooh movie followed by more moon sand play. We built different shaped sandcastles using the moulds we have and then Plum got her mini My Little Ponies and Pippin got her Bing toys to play with. Plum hid her toys in the sand and then mummy had to find them.
Plum has also signed up to Teach Your Monster To Read and in the afternoon she and Pippin played mummies and babies together using the soft toys, cot, baby blankets, dummies. There was a brief moment when Plum watched SevenSuperGirls on YouTube and then we put on The Heffalumo movie but she didn't watch it all as she returned to her game with Pippin.
Bean, 9, and Pumpkin, 8, played minecraft on the temple map. They built a tree house, tamed two dogs and a horse, played hide and seek and allowed Plum and mummy to play too. We spent some time trying to work out how to take screenshots from Bean's tablet but were unsuccessful. Bean and i read more Harry Potter in the afternoon followed by a deep bath so that he could practice putting his head under the water and holding his breath. We played more of the paper game he made yesterday and then made a couple of flip books together.
Bean and Plum played lego together in the evening. Plum made a race track with action posed runners and a finish line. We read stories and, for the first time since she got chicken pox, she slept in her own bed.

Up
Continuing on the up and up health wise but our spirits are also lifted with daddy being home and those who are fit and healthy (and not contagious) finally being able to leave the house.
Bean, 9, is glad that the weekend is here, daddy is home and took the Bean and Pumpkin, 8, swimming. They were out for three hours and had a great time. Plum, 5, was a bit upset but as Pippin, 2, was asleep we were able to spend a lot of 1:1 time which is always a welcome treat in our house.
I had popped out in the morning and bought a few things for the smalls. I had We're Going On A Bear Hunt on dvd and we watched it three times. We then opened up the origami that i had bought for Bean and had a go at making a giraffe and then then Plum made a card for daddy whilst i made a string of paper hearts.
Bean and Plum slept on the living room floor again.
Daddy went to church solo on Sunday. Bean had an extra long bath and was submerging himself and playing under the water with his goggles. We played Akinator together and Bean read a lot of the questions himself. He played Akinator for most of the day. We read the next chapter of Harry Potter and i remembered that we read a chapter on Friday and Bean had made me his first cup of tea for me...best cup of tea ever. Later we made some origami animals, today was a bat, a fish and a fox. This led to making a paper game that probably has a name but i don't know what!
Pumpkin, 8, spent all day on his tablet, playing games and watching youtube.
Plum, 5, and Pippin, 2, played with home made moonsand for two hours in the morning together and we returned to snuggling on the sofa in the afternoon where Pippin fell asleep on my lap. Plum went and washed Charlie and helped daddy to clean out the hutches. When Pippin woke up her and Plum played watering plants in the garden together.

Game play
Monday. We had friends to play today and had a very succesfullay date. I created Roblox accounts for each of the children and they joined together across platforms to play together. The boys on one game and the girls on another. It was good watching them play together and interesting to see that dispite there being 100's of games to choose from they enjoy the same ones, surviving natural disasters being today's favourite. The girl's enjoyed a city game where you are a character in a city and are able to live in this virtual world.
We also played in the garden together using the slide and playing ball with a beach ball and the sticks came out to play too. Bean, 9, asked if we had any large marshmallows for the fire pit. Plum, 5, and J, 5, played in my wardrobe and lottie dolls and cats.
Tuesday. Today we met friends at church. We also had C, 10, over for the day. We all made pizza together and played uno and beanbag diving and hide and seek and it. We came home for the afternoon and played minecraft multiplayer Bean, Pumpkin, 8, Plum, 5, C and mummy on a map that Bean has downloaded. There was pvp battling in a tnt filled arena which was good fun.
Mummy and Bean continued reading Harry Potter and Plum and C played upstairs together. They then played wrestling and murder in the dark before C went home. The evening was full of Mr. Bean episodes.
Pippin, 2, has not been napping on days at home and this has resulted in lengthy crying episodes at around 5pm which is also the time that the others start requesting food. Monday evening didn't go so well as i attempted to cook food (put chicken dippers in the oven) whilst Pippin cried continuously and Pumpkin was pretending to be a ghost and whhhooooooood loudly in Pippin's face which increased the crying and upset me. So, Tuesday, i made sandwiches mid afternoon which Pumpkin ate immediately so i made more and then when hunger time came they helped themselves to sandwiches and bits and i sat with Pippin and we watched Peppa Pig and ate food. Much better.

LegoBatman
We met FA#1 today and cousinB and went bowling. Pumpkin, 8, had an interesting technique which won him first place. We hd the bumpers up and he used them to zig zag the bowling ball towardd the skittles, he got two strikes for himself and two half strikes and two strikes for Pippin, 2, using this method. He was so happy.
We drove to FA#1 house and played lego, looked at Pumpkin's new World Record book, played dollies, watched on tablets, watch Shrek 3 together and a Tom and Jerry movie.
Back home Bean, 9, and i began reading Harry Potter together.
Saturday. I took Plum, 5, and Pippin to cousinH's 3rd birthday party. Pippin had a fabulous time and was busy doing her own thing for most of the party: bouncy castle, tunnels and tents, csr driving. And we got to meet Elsa.

Harry Potter
Harry Potter had been a interest in our house for about 18 months now. Bean, 9, got the dvd set for Christmas 2015 and has watched them repeatedly over the last year. Today we attended a Harry Potter Book Night hosted by friends and included games, quizes, themed snacks, reading excerts and film watching. A group of about 10 Home Educated children across six familes. Pumpkin, 8, joined in too. S, 12, gave Plum, 5, a tour of her bedroom proving once again that age is no barrier.
And the biggest news was that Bean went with another family as the event clashed with Plum's gymnastic class with 15 miles or so between locations. Pumpkin had a tough time deciding what he was going to do but made a last minute descision to go to the Harry Potter event with Bean.
So today we travelled south to drop off Bean and Pumpkin, travelled North back past home and on to daddy's work to drop off Pippin, 2, and then to gymnastics. Plum is loving gymnaatics and today the coach proved to be fabulous and helped Plum out when she wasn't so sure by running the races with her and offering alternatives when the activities looked too daunting for her.
We picked up Pippin from daddy and then back South again to a different location to collect the Bean and Pumpkin. The boys were full of chat about the Harry Potter event, sharing their pictures and telling us about the snacks. Back home the boys went gaming on Roblox, mummy running up and down the stairs typing messages in chat for them, Plum went and curled up in bed with cbeebies and Pippin had Bing on whilst playing with her Bing plush toys.
The day ended with Bean and mummy quizzing each other on Harry Potter questions that we made up.
Plum is enjoying Charlie and Lola books, Bean reading Narnia: the magicians nephew.

Joy in our Heart
Biggest news today is: Plum, 5, went to her first ever gymnastic class and she loved it. We found out at the beginning of the week that she had been given a space at the HE gymnastic class. I had told her and she had lots of questions and was clearly a little excited and nervous. What if everything was too big for her? What if she couldn't do it? Would there be a teacher? Would they show her what to do? What would they be doing? Can mummy come and help? Can mummy sit and watch? Can mummy be near by but not help? Can she wear her leotard? Can she not wear her leotard? What if she needs a drink? What if she needs a rest?
Mummy did go in to the class with Plum and we took Pippin, 2, in too. Plum sat on my knee and watched the warm up games. She attempted the stretches whilst on my lap but it was not very successful so she sat on the floor with the others a little distance away. We found her group and we went of together. She did forward rolls and climbing and jumping and handstands and walking on her hands and bunny jumps and bunny hops and trampolining and rings. She is a strong and agile thing. She loved all of it. Watching her do bunny jumps over a soft box was amazing. She has never done them before and jumped splitleg over the first time. She did it again and again and again and again. She watched her friend do it too. And she did it again and again and again and again. She was enjoying it so much and then, she did it, a bunny jump over the soft box with her feet together, and then she came and gave me a high five and a huge hug.
Meanwhile, Pippin, 2, climbed over the soft stuff, very happily. Bean, 9, and Pumpkin, 7, sat outside the gym hall. They ate lunch and coloured and played on tablets. They ran around and played games together.
The children went for a MacDonald's after with daddy whilst i went and viewed a house. And then back home to watch Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince with Bean. Pumpkin watched Squid, Plum watched toy reviews and Pippin was playing on her bike and scuttle bug.

Blessed
We took a planned trip to town, returning library books and getting some new ones, buying candy canes for the tree, getting kinder surprise eggs. The library has a pokemonGo display currently and Bean, 9, and Pumpkin, 7, enjoyed showing pippin, 2, all the differentokemon and her repeating them when they told her their names. Bean chose another graphic novel to bring home, this time he found a lego ninjago story. Plum, 4, moved the mats left in the children's area from rhyme time and put them all together in a line, she then went tumbling along them, cartwheels and forward rolls, run, skip, and jump. It reminded me to contact the local gymnastics class to see if they have space for her. We bought four boxes of candy canes, each with twelve in them, it was Pumpkin's idea that they can eat one a day until Christmas, although Pippin has already eaten four. Our trip to Sainsbury's for kinder eggs (and shopping for mummy) also ment we bought helium balloons for Pumpkin (darth vader), Plum (frozen), Pippin (peppa pig) and a Harry Potter sticker collectors books for Bean. We dropped the book on the way home, Pumpkin said he remembered that it had fallen out in the alley way down the road, so Bean set off on his own to look for it, fortunately with success.
The remainder of the day Bean and Plum were busy getting a Christmas package together for our friends. Bean made a story book and Plum drew pictures and made cards. We watched Disney's Robin Hood, there were baths and wrestling games and a game of babies. There has been a lot of sibling harmony today and it reminded me that we are blessed to have so much time together to nurture relationships and they really do enjoy each others company and find games that they are able to all play together. Plum and Pippin played doll's house together and sat on Plum's bed and watched cbeebies on the tablet.
On daddy's return home he was joined by a reporter who recorded his entrance into the house. I deliberatly hadn't said anything to the children and we had discussed that the reporter would have to take us as he finds us (i.e. it might be great but we can't guarentee what the children will be doing at that exact moment) but it was a good welcome home, as most of them are. It reminded me how much things have changed for us in the last 12 months. We are blessed.
The remainder of the day Bean and Plum were busy getting a Christmas package together for our friends. Bean made a story book and Plum drew pictures and made cards. We watched Disney's Robin Hood, there were baths and wrestling games and a game of babies. There has been a lot of sibling harmony today and it reminded me that we are blessed to have so much time together to nurture relationships and they really do enjoy each others company and find games that they are able to all play together. Plum and Pippin played doll's house together and sat on Plum's bed and watched cbeebies on the tablet.
On daddy's return home he was joined by a reporter who recorded his entrance into the house. I deliberatly hadn't said anything to the children and we had discussed that the reporter would have to take us as he finds us (i.e. it might be great but we can't guarentee what the children will be doing at that exact moment) but it was a good welcome home, as most of them are. Tales of the Unexpected
We had a play date planned at Fisher's Farm today. Plum, 4, was going to meet her friend M. We headed straight to the slides, it was freezing ourside and it had been quite difficult for Bean, 9, and Pumpin, 7, to agree to coming out. I played with theidea of them staying at home but it would have been at least 3 hours which would have been the longest i have left them, plus Fisher's Farm is the furthest i would have gone and the phone reception there is terrible, in conclusion, i decided against it. We agreed to stay indoors and everyone took tablets as they have wifi. They ran off and played as soon as we got there. We had been there about half an hour before Pumpkin executed one of his usual moves and landed badly on his neck. He was in a lot of pain and couldn't move it without causing more pain. I gave him painkillers and we sat and ate food. All the while he was screaming. Bean came over and sat with us, playing games on my phone. Our friends had arrived but we decided that it would be best to go home. On the way we stopped and bought Tiger Balm. Pumpkin sat all afternoon, stock still, on the sofa.
Back home Pippin, 2, slept. Plum played face painting and painted herself a pirate and me some flowers. Bean and Pumpkin took the Potersmore quizes to discover what house they are in (Hufflepuff,) what their patronus is (bean was an hare, pumpkin was an otter) and what type of wand they would have (mine is hazel 10 1/4 inch, unicorn hair core, unyeilding)
Bean and i also read the first chapter of the coding book that his friend bought for him.
We ended the day with dinner and a film, Bean had a bath, Pumpkin had more painkillers and tiger balm before bed.
